Seriously! No Kidding.

India is the greatest country in the world. You might have probably heard that, almost everybody says that. But what underlines the fact is a nasty truth.

In anywhere but India, “you look really beautiful”. Thanks!

In India, “you look really beautiful”. Stop!

The girl (or lady, whatever you prefer) would immediately fume in anger, and only one word would escape her mouth- ‘BASTARD

To speak in simple words, Indians just can’t take offence. We may blabber how great India is, but deep down our hearts, we are filled with trash. People are naïve to change. This is half-true because of the culture and ethics, we Indians have been brought up since childhood. We are taught to behave in a certain manner. Anything outside this premise is considered plain gross.

This paranoia just escalates to heightened level once a person becomes famous or in other words important to the society.

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan (SRK, if you prefer), in an interview said that he would take up a role in Tamil movie if t were a ‘dumb character’. Even before he could complete his sentence, someone from the crowd corrected him saying that ‘dumb’ was too harsh a word. SRK apologized immediately. Now, just imagine, apologizing for saying the word ‘dumb’. Yeah, this wouldn’t have happened, if it was not SRK on the firing line.

Last week I was trolling down the city streets, and I saw every possible pair of eye (somebody even produced a third eye) peering at a certain place. I noticed and saw a girl in a LBD (little black dress, kid and immediately knew the reason for the ‘mini apocalypse’. I was darn sure she had been branded a complete slut.
Story’s over.

Now, if that’s funny or not, that’s not for me to judge. But I am happy and ‘privileged’ to live in such a country, if you know what I mean.
