HOW TO CONVERT VIDEOS TO GIF FORMAT

Traditional videos are great for sharing content, although they take too much space; especially when sharing across platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, etc. This is where GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) comes to the rescue. It is a sort of stop motion animation of the video content taking up a much smaller space and a fun way to share media content.
One could convert videos to GIF through several platforms. Whether PC or Android, there are apps and websites which offer the ease of converting videos into GIFs.

ONLINE CONVERTERS

Using online converters is hassle-free as you don’t have to download any additional software. If you are on a PC, you could make use of the following websites:

GIPHY


Giphy easily lets you convert any video format to gif. You can choose local content stored on your system or provide web links to the videos. However, there is a file size limitation of 100 MB and the video length should be less than 60 seconds. There is also an added functionality to convert multiple images into GIFs.


ZAMZAR


Zamzar is another web based solution to make GIFs. You just select the file, choose the GIF format and enter you mail id to receive your converted files. However, Zamzar only supports mp4 file format. A typical 50 MB video gets converted in about 4-5 minutes.


EZGIF



Ezgif is similar to Giphy, supporting multiple file types like MP4, WebM, AVI, FLV, MOV, 3GP with max file size of 100 MB. The conversion time depends upon the video, and HD videos with higher frame rate take longer.

If you are using an Android device, you can use the following apps to convert videos into GIFs.

There is also the functionality to add personalized text and images to your GIF. You can crop, rotate, add boomerang effect and share to WhatsApp right from the app itself. Instead of going through the hassle of using converters and apps, there is a fun way where you can convert your videos into GIF right from WhatsApp itself.
Ø  Capture a video that you would like to convert into a GIF
Ø  Open any conversation
Ø  Tap on the paper clip (attachment) icon
Ø  Tap on Gallery


Ø  On the video editing screen, tap the GIF option on the top right corner


Ø  You can trim the video but keep in mind that the length should not exceed 6 seconds. Once you are done, tap the green arrow and your GIF would be sent to your contact.




Easy peasy, right? Have fun annoying your friends and family.
